National Book Awards YA Longlist

National Book Foundation, Presenter of the National Book Awards

Hi there!

Work is pretty crazy this week, I’m still reading The Prisoner of Night and Fog (slowly), and I am exhausted. Like, crawl under the desk and fall asleep next to the heater exhausted. So no review or feature post today.

But I did want to drop in and post the link to the 2014 National Book Awards Longlist for Young People’s Literature. Basically, these ten YA novels are all contending to be selected as the best YA books of the year. Finalists will be announced on October 15, followed by winner announcements during the National Book Awards Ceremony on November 19.

It looks to be a good selection this year. I loved The Impossible Knife of Memory and Noggin, but I sadly haven’t read any of the others. Guess I’d better get on that. What do you all think? Did any of your favorites make the list?
