It’s Monday! is a weekly meme hosted over at Book Journey that allows bloggers to post a sort of wrap-up of the past week while also looking to the week ahead. Without further ado…
Last Week: We hosted our friend Sarah for a few days, which was super fun! We also hosted some friends last night for dinner and board game night (rather, card game night as we only played Phase 10). And I finally beat the original Bioshock game on Saturday. So those things were pretty great. On the negative side, our power went out Friday night, so we ate Taco Bell by candlelight, sat around doing nothing, and went to bed early. And I think I lost $20 at some point, which isn’t a huge deal, but I’m regretting it right now as I’m sitting here with my stomach growling. Ah, well. Things happen.
Katie and I also finally wrapped up our Harry Potter reading challenge last week. Took forever, but once again, I emerged victorious, beating Katie by about 100 pages (I think!). I think with my stomach, so naturally I chose food as a prize, so we had KFC for lunch on Saturday courtesy of her. Because we were still reading HP, I veered toward graphic novels (again!) to offset, so that’s pretty much all I read last week.
Posts: The Franciscan review, Changeless review, The Infinite Sea review, Sunday Sagacity #1 – A Year in Discipline
Currently Reading: Kitty Hawk and the Hunt for Hemingway’s Ghost (Kitty Hawk Flying Detective Agency #2) – Iain Reading; I’ll Meet You There – Heather Demetrios; Fables: The Deluxe Version, Volume 7 – Bill Willingham
Looking Ahead: I’m not really sure. My continuing superhero obsession is slowing as I catch up (at least as far as I can go in each series). So I’m finishing up a couple of those series, I am in the middle of a manga series, and I have at least a couple more Kitty Hawk books waiting for me. I’m guessing it’ll be a mixture of those things this week.
Lots of interesting reads! I’ve not read a graphic novel yet, though I keep hearing great things about them. Hope you have a great reading week. 🙂

Just be careful – once you dive it, it’s like falling down the rabbit hole of strange and wondrous things! My Batman obsession seems to have led to a superhero obsession.

I love Phase 10! We play it often at my mom’s house. It sounds like you had a fun and delicious weekend. 🙂

It was so fun! We only made it halfway through the phases, but I think we’re planning board game nights maybe once a week now, so I’m sure we’ll finish at some point.
