It’s Monday! is a weekly meme hosted over at Book Journey that allows bloggers to post a sort of wrap-up of the past week while also looking to the week ahead. Without further ado…
Last Week: Work was a blur of new student orientations, bookstore hours, training on new platforms, and general busyness. Start week is finally upon us! Apart from work, I took a really important step and checked off another box on the adulting checklist…I bought a car!!! My first car has been falling apart for a couple years now, but I’ve coaxed a total of 8 years out of it, so no complaints. My new car is a 2007 Mercury Milan, with a host of fancy features and an actual working CD player! That means audio books, y’all! Also, the weather has been warming up gradually, so it’s felt really nice all week!
Along with a general upswing in life came a great reading week! I read double what I read the week before last. So still not up to my old standards, but definitely progress! It was a mix of review copies and things I read just because, which worked out well. There was definitely a diversity to the genres I read, which made for an interesting time!
Posts: Mini reviews, Dream a Little Dream preview, Sunday Sagacity – Setbacks, The Never Hero review
Currently Reading: Everything I Never Told You – Celeste Ng
Looking Ahead: Katie and I decided to change up our reading challenge – instead of tackling Dante’s Divine Comedy, we are going to read Middlesex instead. Because it was on the Rory Gilmore reading challenge, two library copies are available, and we can do what we want! 🙂 So I’m hoping that we start that this week. When I’m not dominating the challenge, I have some amazing looking books I picked up while browsing at the library, so I’m really excited for those!
I don’t know exactly how much I’ll get through this week, because I’ll be working much more than normal. But I’m excited for any time I get to spend in these books! What are you looking forward to this week, friends?
Congrats on the new car!!
I’ve heard great things about Everything I Never Told You. I can’t wait to read what you think!

The car is so fun!! With a working CD player, I’ve been listening to the original 1993 NPR broadcast drama of Star Wars Episode V, which is amazing!!
